What is your opinion of Killswitch Engage?
I consider them among the elite (and few standouts/good ones) of metalcore, among All That Remains and Shadows Fall. The main thong about them that I like is that they seem to have a heavier sound than their core-temporaries (hah! Bad pun!), and above all, ACTUAL emotion. Not those robotic melodic vocals that have no emotion at all (As I Lay Dying, Caliban, I'm looking at you). These are really, really good clean vocals. Very sonorous, very emotional. Howard has a wicked scream too. Anyways, I just think these guys are fun, though repetitive.

Hm...have you heard their new track, Reckoning? The screams, I think, are a little less...screamy, but, IMO, the music itself is heavier and DEFINITELY faster.
I love Killswitch Engage. I don't think you can compare them to any band because they're unique. I cannot wait til their new album comes out! Their best album was AOJB, and I hope the new one is somewhere as good as it. And I disagree with you about AILD. As I Lay Dying has a lot of emotion. Have you ever listen to Song 10, Behind Me Lies Another Fallen Solider, or 94 hours? Or even Morning Waits? Plenty of emotion. I'm not sure what your definition of "emotion" is.
However, I listen to Parkway Drive and Bleeding Through more than any of them, now, thus, I like hardcore stuff. But KsE cannot be compared with anyone, dude. Their style is too epic.
As Daylight Dies is a much better album, in my opinion. But AOJB transcends all of their albums.
