Can you use a piece of hose on the power steering return line?
my 99 chevy lumina's power steering return line has a hole in the metal line that connects to the pump. Oriellys nor auto zone sells the part I need. I tried JB weld cause I was told it would work fine but it didnt. Can I cut the line where the hole is and replace it with a piece of powersteering hose and clamps? the hole in only about a cm long
If you're sure it's the return line, it has very little pressure in it. You can cut the line at the hole, and put a piece of steel tubing in it. Hold it in place with a few clamps.
It's best to order a new line, but the repair should hold long enough to get you around until you can replace the line.
