Your driving and you run a red light and a camera takes a picture of your cars plates can a AUTOMATIC WELDING SHIELD LENS be used to cover up your license plate from a traffic camera? A automatic welding shield lens is clear until you strike an ark or when light hits it then it goes completely black. If a person were to make a license plate cover out of AUTOMATIC WELDING SHIELD LENS then when you run past a red light by mistake of course* then you would be protected from the camera. Once the bright flash goes off from the red light traffic camera that would activate the welding shield lens to go all black thus covering your license plate. Now this is not an idea for people to start running red lights which you should NEVER do. But sometimes a traffic light is not working correctly and if someone were to get a picture of their car taken that would be very unfair. This idea would work and I want to know if anyone can tell me why this idea would or would not work?
No, it won't work because the light from the camera flash is too dim and too brief for the welding shield to react to it, sorry.
