Electrical Question... Please help?
I know this maybe one of those stupid questions but I am running out of options.
I do not know much about home electricity, and I need to hook up my welder, it is single phase and has an input power of 208 - 230 volts, the main problem is I have no available room in my electric panel, and one person said all I would need to do is plug it into my dryer outlet. would that really work? or would I more than likely burn my house down?
Please let me know if this would work out. and not kill anyone and or burn my house down.
Thanks for your time,
Andrew
dryers is on a 30 amp breaker and and I used to have the welder on a 50 amp breaker...
if the welder is rated for less amps than the breaker for your dryer outlet the you are in good shape assuming you ground it right.
