Making a 240v extension cord?
So I want to make a 240v extension cord, I’ve made several 110v cords, which is no big deal…
I want a 240v about 100ft long.
I’ve worked on jobsites that had them, up to 200ft in length and varied between 10/3, 8/3 and 6/3.
I was thinking I’d like mine in the 8/3 but where do I find that gauge cord which is still flexible enough to coil up? (Lowe’s and Home Depot didn’t seem to be the place).
(This will have occasional use on an Air compressor and also at times a transformer welder).

if this is a 3 phase application you'll need x/4. But maybe you already know that. Anyway, look up wire and cable in the yellow pages. what you want is called S.O. cord, or S.O.W. cord.
