is it possible to fix a tachometer cable?
I have a 69 suzuki and it's very hard to find parts for this bike. my tach cable is broke. i've pretty much completely rebuilt this bike by hand myself, retrofitted a lot of things onto this bike from other models etc etc..
there is a tach cable on ebay for my bike but it's going to be outrageously priced by the time the auction's through.
my cable is broken somewhere near where it plugs into the crank case..
is it possible for me to fix the one i have? and if so, how do i do it without a welder? i know solder will not hold up...
cool thanks...
No it's not possible to repair it. I feel your pain with my '84 Honda Magna. I had two cables break on me since March. A better way to go may be find a cable compatible on the motor end and replace the guage up top instead. That way if it does break again, you can easily replace it. It's a PITA to find something compatible, but it beats having to pay outrageous prices for a part that may or may not fit your ride when it arrives.
