i am doing a paper on water injection in a gas turbine. I've got the basic idea down but i need some more information behind it to explain it in my paper. thanks.
Natural gas fired gas turbines do use water injection for NOx control. I operate 5 GE LM6000s and 4 use WI to get exhaust NOx down to 25ppm prior to the SCRs in the OTSG boilers and the 5th GT uses WI to lower NOx to 60ppm at the exhaust prior to the SCR in an HRSG.
The first 4 also have a system known as SPRINT (SPRay INTercooling). While the use of water will lower NOx emissions it also produces CO in the combustion process.
