Problem with brakes/discs or maybe something else?
hi, when i roll my bike backwards it is very hard to push. It is similar in the front but not so much and definately not as bad.
I have lifted the front wheel on the centre stand by putting weight on the back, and i have found that at a certain spot the wheel sticks badly. its very stiff.
It gets alot better after the bike has been on a run but its still there. What could this be?
my bike has twin disc front brakes, with 2 x 2-pot calipers. Hydraulic

There are a few things to check. One would be most obvious- a bent wheel. It doesn't take much to warp the outer rim of a wheel, which would migrate down to the brake pads...Two would be a warped rotor (disc). One or both rotors could have been compromised...
Three might be a sticky caliper piston or pistons. Most likely.
The wheel and rotor can be checked while the wheel is on the bike. Simply spin it and note if there's a visible "wobble". Check this from different angles, but it should be most obvious while facing the front. 2 people make the job easier.
You'll need to remove the wheel and manually activate the pistons in the caliper. Accomplish this by using your thumb or a flat blade for leverage. The pistons should push in smoothly. Put a small block of wood between the calipers just wide enough to allow the pistons to return about 20mm while pulling in slightly on the brake lever. IE- don't let the pistons pop out of their "cups". Feel for a smooth operation in both directions.
Any hesitation on the piston action will probably require a caliper tear down for cleaning and examination. If you're comfortable working with hand tools, this is a relatively easy task. Use the repair manual and follow the directions.
It could be as simple as flushing and renewing the brake fluid. Dirty fluid can really mess up the brake action.
Never ignore brake problems! Remedy the situation a.s.a.p.
