What type of welding is best.?
Trying to get srated in learning to weld but I dont know which one to learn or buy, I want high quality welds that can withstand punishment. I was thinking of a TIG welder, any advice from somebody experienced would be great. I plan on tacking a project tp make a rollcage for my car, but that will be after some practice.
Tig is your best bet because it makes the cleanest weld. whether you use 7018 stick rods or 70 mig wire 0r ER70S Tig wire; they all stand for the same thing. 70,000 psi tensile strength. 80 as a pre fix for any welding rod or wire stands for 80,000 psi. and then again 90. Stainless 347 Tig would be your safest and yet afordable option, and after that I would go with a 308 stainless. ( or 309 if you weld stainless to carbon )
