I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber that I just got the rotors turned. There are 2 bolts that hold on the caliper.?
There's 2 bolts (guide pins) that hold the brake caliper on. These 2 bolts are different from each other, one goes in the top and one in the bottom. The difference between the 2 is that one has some square parts to it and the other one has black teflon looking stuff around the tip. During the process of getting the rotors turned, I got these 2 bolts mixed up on both the driver and passenger side, so I'm not sure which bolt goes in the top and which one goes in the bottom. I have taken a picture of both bolts side by side and am hoping someone can tell me which one goes in the top and which one in the bottom. Please help, I hope it doesn't matter which one goes where. I put the one with the black teflon around the tip in the bottom for now, but can change if I have to.
I can't add the picture in here, so let me know if you are able to help, give me your e-mail address, and I can e-mail them to you. Thank you.
i would visit the nearest auto parts store and ask to look at a manual.
either a chilton's or a hayes. both would tell and show how to reinstall the calipers.
the brake rotors and calipers are weak points in a dodge and usually disk. when they go bad they wipe out the rotors!! don't like dodge for this reason! another weak spot is the rack and pinion steering.
good luck to you.
the dj man said that
