Is it bad to use Teflon tape or dope on a flexible hose to connect to a valve like a toilet?
I'm confused I read that use none or one or both what's the best to replace a toilet hose without leaking or risk of leaking even if it's overkill.
Some say the tape can cause a leak
Only connections that seal at the threads need that. Such as pipe connections.
That connection seals with a rubber seal so adding compound to the threads may prevent the connection to pull tight against the seal. Same with fittings that have a ferrule or flare fittings.
