how to connect a piece of copper sheet to a stainless steel knife..?
i'm going to enter the malaysian young inventor competition..but the problem is that my invention needs me to attach a piece of copper sheet to a stainless steel knife..how may i do so..
I should be possible to solder it, you will need to mechanically clean the stainless (like with fine sandpaper) to remove the transparent oxide layer, and use an aggressive flux (rosin core solder for electronics is unlikely to work) If you can find a solder/flux combination made for stainless that would be ideal, but plumbers solder and an ordinary acid flux might work if the cleaning is adequate.
Silver soldering with a suitable flux might also work, but the heat might be bad for the cutting edge of the knife.
