Would Petty Enterprises really join up w/ Gillett Evernham Motorsports ?
Petty Enterprises hasn't raced in the BUSCH series because it is sponsored by BUSCH BEER... now w/ all this talk of them joining up w/ G.E.M., just signing Budweiser as a primary sponsor to the #9, wouldn't that lure Petty away from the G.E.M. team? I haven't really heard of talks w/ any other organazations other than G.E.M., but w/ the new beer sponsorship added, It just surprised me they would sign w/ G.E.M.
The way Kyle Petty described it on Tradin' Paint was that it would be a "working relationship, not a merger". He was very careful to state that Petty Enterprises would remain Petty Enterprises. And I do agree with you, the Bud sponsorship would likely be a hinderance from a merger. Richard Petty absolutely would not align himself and his organization with anything to do with beer or alcohol.
