I rebuilt 2 clutch slave cylinders[85 Volvo 740] and both leak under pressure,any tricks to seal properly?
I put new gasket and boot on them dipped them in brake fluid before install ,the cylinders seem free of defect maybe minor scratch or two. I push my clutch fork easy back and forth I'm thinking to scrap this heap but it runs like new still.
If you're not roughing up the cylinder bore you're wasting your time. If you don't have a brake cylinder hone use some 400 grit emery cloth with brake fluid as a lubricant. After using the cloth clean the cylinder bore well and them install your parts. Lube the rubber parts with brake fluid before installation.
