What guage power cable should I use if I will be running near 900rms to my subs?
I have an amp that can put out 900 rms. Currently it is only putting out around 550- 600 rms with the way my subs are wired. They are wired at 4 ohms. But soon I will be getting DVC subs so I will wire them for a 2 ohm load for each channel of my amp. Yes it can handle it very easy. But I only have 4 guage power cable. I have a 1.5 farad capacitor too. But I have all 17 feet of 4 guage wire running to my amp and it barely reached. Should I change the guage to 2 guage or is 4 guage fine.
go with the 2g,you never know when you may upgrade,may as well do the wire now and be positive that its going to carry the amprage.
