I have a new PC with Windows 7 installed and I wanted to have multiple OS: Windows 7 and Windows XP. I'm suppose to install the older OS (XP) first and then the Windows 7 OS, but when I try to boot from the XP cd I get a window saying to check my HrdDr for viruses or check to make sure it's configured correctly and then shuts down the XP installation. So I checked with my antivirus program and no viruses, And for configuration, well I have a 1 tig hrddr and it works fine with Windows 7, so whats my problem? I was thinking, the only other way to format this hrddr is to take out my hrddr and install it in my older PC as a slave drive and then reboot and then format that drive without using the XP disc and after formating, reinstalling the hrddr in the new computer and THEN installing XP and it's upgrade service pack 2 so it will recognize my 1 tig hrddr so I can partition the drive and then re-install Windows 7. How does this sound? Feesible?
you install windows 7 first and use disk management to make a partition to install xp
