How do you sort out your gas/elec etc when you move to a new house?
I'am due to move in 2 weeks time, I understand that I have cancel my utilities at my old address, but how do I arrange to have gas/elec etc sorted out on the day I move in to my new home?
Call the utility companies and tell them when you are moving and they can help you get it sorted out. You should do this ASAP because they sometimes have to schedule these things when someone will be at the new house (especially gas companies, if the gas has been turned off at the new place). Sometimes they will just read the meters and transfer the billing name on the date you move, but other times it's a little more complicated.
