I'm running my first triathlon in about 1.5 months, and i've seen a lot of different types of attire for the swim portion,different still for the ride, and even different for the run. My question is...Is there ONE piece of clothing to wear during the Swim, Ride, AND Run portions of a triathlon?
1. Its TRIATHLON.
2. Up to you on clothing. Short distance (less than half iron distance), I'll just go with my speedo, possibly pulling on a snug singlet top for the bike and run (sometimes required by rule). Long distance (half or iron), I'll wear my bike shorts, or tri-specific shorts for the whole thing so I have a little bit of padding for the bike.
The more clothing you fool with, the longer your transition times will be. Typically there are no changing tents except for iron distance races, so stripping down and changing is not an option. By rule, you can be penalized (time penalty) for public nudity.
