Which cars are best to work up?
What cars do you guys feel are best to mod? Please dont post rediculous cars. Obviously 60's muscle cars are great, but most kid's can not afford to build one. I work as a Mid level tech at a reputable shop, and I have grown up around cars. Tools are obviously not a problem and I can Mig, Tig, Stick and I am learning Gas welding.
I would ideally like to keep the initial purchase under 10,000. I was thinking a late 80's early 90's or 99-04 mustang, or if I could afford one (doubtful) an SRT-4.
Can you guys recommend any other cars I should consider? I would like to avoid the typical ricer Integra's and Civics. I work on enough of them and they simply were never made to go fast.
Can you guys suggest any other cars that have alot of potential but arnt commonly built up?

If you can find a Fox-body 5.0L Mustang in good shape, jump on it. The problem is finding one that hasn't been beat to sh*t. You can get a '94-95 GT pretty cheap and you can the advantage of many speed parts for the 5.0L but the upgraded chassis, 4 wheel disc brakes, and other updates that the SN95s got.
If you can swing it a '99+ GT is a good buy though. You can supercharge them and make great power without having to touch the engine, and still maintaining good economy. (350-400rwhp depending on the supercharger and the tune.)
