Do I need a shower door?
I'm about to install a shower in a 1400 x 900mm enclosure, with the shower mounted on one of the shorter sides. I'd planned to use a stud wall or glass screen to create a 'walk in' effect, as I also intend to sink the shower tray into the floor (there is space for the outflow). However, I guess I'd have to leave at least a 600mm gap to walk in, only leaving 800mm of screen. Would this be enough to stop any significant amount of water splashing out on the bathroom floor (mixer shower on a pressurised system)? Or would I be better off with a more conventional hinged door & screen kit? (sorry about the French measurements but that's what all the stuff seems to come in)
You'll need something to stop the water. The water may not be directed at the opening but the water splashing off you will end up all over the place.
Here is a real good tile forum that'll help you construct your shower: http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1
