How can I ground a 2 prong outlet using an adapter?
I am renting a house that has only 2 prong outlets. I would like to ground them using a 3 prong adapter but I am not sure how. I know the adapters have a little metal tab on the bottom that is meant to be able to ground the outlet but I'm not exactly sure how its works. Can I just run a metal wire from that tab to something metal that is attached to the ground?
The best way to handle any potential overload - is to use a 6 outlet electric strip, they have a fuse and will prevent blowing out your fuse box. In order to use those 3 prongs correctly - ground the open tab by screwing it to the middle screw that is holding the plastic face plate to outlet.
