I have an Indesit dishwasher just over a year old. The draw where you deposit the liquid or blocks does not?
open during the wash cycle. I now have to wait until the cold rinse has finished and then manually open the door. Any ideas please before I call Indesit and pay a fortune for labour.
open during cycle. I do put the liquid in the drawer first. I found the liquid was still intact after the wash. Now I have to open the drawer manually when cyale has started.
there are several reasons for this problem,
1) the programme controller might be malfunctioning and not sending the signal to the solenoid that opens the drawer.
2) the heating element may not be heating the water to a hot enough temperature for the programme to sense that it needs to release the drawer.
3) the thermostat is not working and is not sending the correct temperature signal to the programme controller.
4) the insulation on the wiring loom that travels up the front of the door from the bottom of the machine has become hard and brittle, and the seal at the bottom of the door has let a small amount of water through and as this is salty water it has got into the wiring loom and corroded the copper conductor so causing the cable to snap.( this happened to my machine and all i did was to seperate the two skins of the door and replaced the affected cable and seal and my machine was back in full service )
if you are not happy with using tools etc then you will need to contact your local dish washer repair man, but they are not cheap especially if they are tied to a set manufacturer, the best way to find a reliable repairer is to check with your local trading standards office who should be able to supply you with a list of reliable engineers in your area.
