How do you repair chainsaw chaps?
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on repairing chainsaw chaps that have minor superficial tears and a little of the kevlar thread poking out. Is it safe to stitch a piece over the tear since it should still rip and bind the saw if contact is made. Any suggestions welcome.

I think you should play it safe and replace the chaps. Why risk it? You can pick up new caps for $40-$55, I think that's worth keeping your legs safe.
