hvac help. which solder/braze and gas to use on refrigerant line?

i have universal certification and a leak detector with knowledge of how to do everything. i just lack experience. i've been using mapp gas. i tried to braze the line with bernzomatic ns-3, flux coated nickel silver brazing rod. i heated the joint for about 5-10 minutes and it still would not accept the braze. what type of solder/braze should i use with mapp gas? or do i just need to invest in an oxy-acetylene torch? i have been using nitrogen to purge the system while brazing. the whole project was to replace the evaporator and obviously install new filter drier afterwards. just need to solder/braze everything back together.

Just invest in an acetylene torch. No need to use oxy with it. It is possible with map but you will be heating it for a while. You are using the right rod and properly purging. You just need more heat.
