How much would it cost to replace a heat shield on my catalytic converter?
My 1998 Honda Civic's heat shield is having an issue. One of the welds has broken, and the shield is now making the iconic rattling noise by the engine. I know that this can be fixed Do-It-Yourself, but I have no car know how, and I would rather just pay a little extra to have someone do it for me. How much would it cost to either fix, or replace the heat shield? I would rather not take it off entirely. Thank you!
It'll cost less than $10. Buy a couple screw type hose clamps. Connect them together and tighten them around the converter and heat shield.
