Should I use the heater or heat pump?
I got a new ac/heater system last year and it has a setting for heat and a setting for "em heat" which the guy who installed it told me was for the heat pump. Which one am I supposed to use- the regular heater or the heat pump setting? Which one is more inexpensive? Thanks!!!
The "em heat" will likely be more expensive to run. It is in-duct electric resistance heat; not very efficient.
So, use the regular heat setting. "Em heat" is just for that unlkely event that the regular heat system dies and your house is about to freeze.
