Question about braces?

I just got braces on (the clear type) and I have some questions. First, I'm told I'll need rubber bands later. What are they like? I'm also told I'll need headgear (for sleeping only) later on. What is it like?
They mentioned something about expanders also, but seemed less sure about using them. Well, I guess if anyone has any info on those, could you share (though I'm doubtful I'll get one).

Wearing braces at night are not that bad, If like me you have two years of it, so good look.

The bands go arond the plates stuck on your teeth and basically are used to tighten it up.

You also have bands the are attached from your upper teeth to the lower teeth. This makes it hard to yawn, they are easy to snap. - I stopped using the latter, too much fuss.

As for the head gear, it's awkward. One thing though, make sure you thouroughly wash it, as it becomes very unhygenic. This can be uncomfortable, I'd also recommend you ask the dentist if it is really required to wear one, we all stopped wearing ours after months ( we - me and my sisters) we found it pointless.

Ensure the dentist gives you plenty of wax, as the brace, rubbing against your mouth, does cause a lot of pain.
