Grain Elk

Is the .308 Win. strong enough to kill Elk within 100-150 yards, or do I need something bigger and stronger?
I asked this question earlier and people gave me crap about the info of the question so I rephrased it. Is the .308 Win strong enough to kill Elk at 100-150 yards using a 165-180 grain bullet, or do I need something bigger and stronger?
This will definatly do the trick, but you m ost definatly have to make a well placed shot. The well placed shot will definatly make it a quick clean ethical kill. If you are not to experienced with guns then I would say you would need something a little bigger, but if you know your way around your .308 it should be just fine.
