Will I damage Kevlar if I iron it?
I am a police assistant and I have a pair of police tac gloves that I use for when I do details. However I was just told by an officer to remove the actual "POLICE" lettering from the back of them. The lettering looks like it is some type of acrylic material, but I am not sure what it really is. I have been told though that I can iron off the letters. I was wondering though if I would damage/diminish the Kevlar in the gloves if I took the extreme heat of ironing to it. Does anyone have any ideas or alternatives for removing the lettering? Thank you very much.
I doubt it. Kevlar is very stable up to 800 degrees fahrenheit.
