a bit over a month ago i bought a 1998 ford taurus SHO. it had 109,800 miles on it when i bought it, now its at nearly 111,000. i have no idea if the cams are welded or not. Id like to know if theres any way to know at all or signs that tell me they are welded. Its had 2 or 3 previous owners over the years but it runs great so far. I had to replace coil in cylinder 3 and ever since i replaced that, its run very smooth and is still fast when i put the petal in the floor. And also, how much is it to get cams welded?
Also, for the people that don't know too much about the 3rd gen SHOs, the cams on the SHOs that ford put in will tend to open up and it'll ruin the engine. i dont know if by now, that there is 111k miles on it, there would have most likely already been a cam problem considering people say it'll happen around 50k-70k miles. i just dont want this to happen to my SHO. i dont want to have to scrap it or put in a new engine.
