Bending and Mig welding.?
Bending and welding.
Bending a 1mm, 25mm diameter pipe.
Most fitters just tell me to bend it without heating?
Would it be better if heated first?
Also, I am thinking of buying a 0.5kg reel of fluxed core gasless Mig wire.
I know I can buy 4Kg reel of standard wire for the same price, but I will need to use gas with that. I am trying to work out if the overall cost difference between using these two types of wire. It’s not easy for me, because I have no idea how much additional gas will be needed for the standard none fluxed wire.

Welding wire is consumed in the units of inches (or mm) per minute. The flow rate for the purge gas is defined in cubic feet per minute (or liters per minute). Several factors determine both of these for welding, such as where the welding is being done (cross breezes and the such demand higher purge rates) and welders preferences.
I can't remember the numbers that I used when welding (its been 10 years ago).
The cost savings of flux core is quickly lost in additional labor costs to post clean the welds.
Heating a pipe or tube prior to bending changes it heat treat condition. Cold bends are better to do. With a 1mm to 25mm tube the bending equipment is not that expensive to do a cold bend.
