where can i buy a stainless steal bucket with screw on lid for brewing alcohol?
I want it to be about a 4 gallon (if you ferment alcohol, and know a better size then please fill me in) bucket. With an air-tight screw on lid.
I want a simple bucket that's cheap really cheap, and can have a flame on the bottom of it... I plan on doing the whole process from the one bucket to save time, instead of putting the mash in a pressure cooker or whatever when im done. So if you have any advice or tips, please tell me. Cheers.
I found a plastic 5 gallon bucket made from POLYPROPYLENE, will this be sufficient for fermentation?
Instead of stainless use a plastic bucket. A 5 gallon bucket made of HDPE, about the most common one you can find and a lid. You can drill though the top and either put in a grommet or a rubber stopper and airlock. They are cheap and easy to maintain. When you wash it out use a soft cloth rag and never use anything that can scratch it. When it becomes too worn to use convert it to something else. Brew in 5 gallon batches, the recipes are all over the place for 5 and 1 gallon batches. Besides if you are distilling 1 gallon you get less then a cup from it.
What you distill in however is not the same thing you ferment in. For that a pressure cooker works very well. But doing so falls under the gray or even illegal area so you will have to find your information on that elsewhere.
