Mig welder will not stop feeding wire!?
I have a Hobart MIG welder with a Miller hose/trigger gun. It used to work great. Yesterday, it started continuing to feed wire even when I relesead the trigger. I took the gun apart and cleaned it and taped up a few wires. Now it feeds wire as soon as I turn the machine on and never stops. Is this a common problem? All of the switch wiring looks good... Any ideas?

IF you had to tape up a few wires, then you probably need to replace the feed unit since the wires are not a separate cable. (Check with an ohmmeter to see if there is a short in the cable.)
Primary cause of this problem on Miller units is the trigger switch, but it usually fails in WON'T feed rather than won't stop.
IF no short and good switch, then it may be a sticking relay or short inside the welder.
