is there any legal eye protection in rugby?
I had caderac surgery when i was 5 so i have an artificial lens in my left eye and intend on playing club rugby at my college next year. I was told by my opthamologist that it could break and make me blind if i was to get hit in it hard enough so is there any legal eye protection that could protect my eyes from that risk?
Like the others have said eye protection is illegal. If what opthamologist say is true I recommend not playing any rugby at all, even sevens, although touch should be alright, as rugby is a contact sport and unfortunately things like eye gouging do happen, its not worth going blind for.
