How can I get reimbursed for 5yrs of paying electric for water pump of 3 units plus outside pump?
I have been living in an old house turned into up/down duplex. I pay the electric for the basement, upstairs pays the hall lighting. Recently, my utilities were shut off due to non-payment of extremely high energy bill. When that happened, the upstairs water went off (which I already knew and complained about) and come to find out the house behind us also had their water shut off, along with the outside hose! How can my landlord possibly make this right for 5 years?
The fact you didn't notice for 5 years is nearly conclusive proof you were NOT paying for what you claim in this question you were, or that the pump never used enough power to be worth the effort of recovering. I am willing to BET the house behind yours having there water shut off is totally unrelated to YOU issues. I can also guarantee you were significantly more than one month behind to have you utilities disconnected. My bet is you NEVER paid the bill for whatever was cut off.
