Couple of welding lens questions?
specifically auto darkening lenses like

Can these lenses be used without a helmet? Which of those two would you get, or if you know a better one what would it be
Its hard to tell by the two sites but the $129 one looks to be a solar backup the $59 one does not. No the .5 does not cost that much. Yes they can be used with out a helmet, but I would not recommend it you can get flash burns too easy doing that. I would not get either one. I use Speedglas hoods they have an adjustable shade setting from 8 to 13. Look at the Miller, or Jackson hoods they have the variable shades also.
