Shower problems, What to do?
For the past 6 months, my parents shower has had a mind of its own.
The first problem was when changing it from cold to hot. If you moved it even slightly to the hot side, it would immediately decrease in size and just trickle out of the shower head. Whe called in a plumber and they did something that got it working properly, and we also put a new mixer in.
It worked wonderfully for about 3 weeks after that, then began to slowly decrease again in size until we needed to do something. My dad new a plumber who turned the ajax valve under the hot water cylinder. It worked great, like before but continues to get worse.
Yesterday, the shower hardly turned on, well actually, it works fine on cold but not on hot.
I'm not sure if this helps answer my question, but when the shower is going, if you turn the hot tap in the sink on, it turns off completely.
I don't know what to do, and I was hoping my favourite community can help.
Sounds like your hot water heater may be heating the water up so high that its melting the rubber washers. Replace the washers with some made for hot water use and make sure you don't have the water heater set to high.
