I have some 300mm dia pipe which i want to cut and weld at 45 degrees.. How do i mark it out to cut THANKS?
I want to cut the pipe and rejoin it at 45 degrees
Stand it up and mark it at 0 degrees. Then cut. Then take both pieces, grab your protracter, set it to 45, then move it down (while keeping level) so the tip of the angle hits the rim of the previous cut. Then mark, and if you have the right tools you can cut them both on that line (one right underneath another). This is especially helpful if you aren't 100% on the mark because once you flip around the other piece they will still match up. Good luck.
