We have removed all of the other cast iron pipe in the home. However, we can not figure out how to get the cast iron pipe out of the cement foundation wall. Please help asap! Thanks!
Sounds like your replacing your drain. If you replace all and don't need 4" because of the load on the pipe then just cut the cast iron and use it as a sleeve for the new 3" drain pipe.
If you have already ran it in 4" use a chisel to break the pipe and remove it. The new PVC pipe will be tough to get into the same hole but if you use a 2x6 placed on the end of the pipe you can drive it through. Make sure the wood lay's flat on the end of the pipe and hit it with a hammer, it will work fine.
This is not a big deal and will work out with little trouble. in most cases for a home,If you have 3 toilets or less you really are not required to have a 4" stub out. Use hydraulic cement to seal inside and out.
There is no problem removeing the pipe, it will not hurt the wall at all if you replace it useing the same hole.
