Can I apply a semi-gloss sealer on slate flooring after I already applied a penetrating sealer?
I'm applying two layers of penetrating sealer to a slate floor I installed because the floor is in a bathroom. After I grout, I'd like to seal the floor again with a semi-gloss sealer to bring out the color of the floor and to seal the grout as well. Will this work?

If the penetrating sealer has soaked in ,you should be able to do it. Read the label on the semigloss product to see if there are restrictions. Most of these products have a base that can cleaned up with mineral spirits. If the new product has mineral spirits as a cleaner then it should work. I would test a small area first. Do not use a roller for this as it causes bubbles. A throw away brush (chip brush) works good.
