Having trouble penetrating with this. I have to pass this to move on to my next project. every time I try either burns a hole in the metal cut it down an amp it don't penetrate enough and sticks to the place allot. I notice while welding allot of time the weld stay in the same place, I'm still talking about the square butt. I think I'm positioning the rod wrong or some thing is there any demonstration or teaching on line that describes how the plate is melted
There are many factors that can cause your problems. You don't say the thickness of material. With not knowing what you are welding, type of machine, type of rod, and so on - If you are burning it up you are going too slow. If you don't penetrate you are going too fast. You can go to youtube and type in the type of welding you are looking for and there are many tips on there. Or you can go to some welding chat rooms and bounce questions off them.
