the height h of the bucket after t seconds is given by h=-16t^2+400. whenwill the bucket hit the ground??
GIVEN
h=-16t^2+400
The variables indicated above are as follow:
h = height of bucket (measured from the ground) at any time "t"
t = travel time of bucket
Thus being said, when the bucket hits the ground, "h" will be equal to zero. Therefore,
h = 0 = -16t^2 + 400
16t^2 = 400
t^2 = 25
t = 5 sec.
ANSWER: The bucket will hit the ground 5 secs after being accidentally dropped.
