What is this film called?
I am struggling to remember the title of a film from my youth. The film is either of American or Australian production and is a coming of age sort of movie. It is about a group of boys who find an abandoned open-cast mine ( huge pit with lake at bottom), the lake contains what the boys think is a monster. But in actuality the "monster" is an old 1920's digger which has an air spring under it's bucket and every few hours the bucket fills up with air causing it to brake the surface of the lake, hence the "monstrous" appearance. I think but am not 100% sure theres a "creek" or "frog" or maybe "indian" in the title.Any help would be greatly appreciated as have been trying to remember it for ages!
The movie is called "The Quest" here in the USA or "Frog Dreaming" in some other countries. It starred the kid from E.T. as the boy who finds the backhoe.
