okay to drink out of polyethylene nalgene bottle with growth in it?
the bottom of the inside of my narrow-mouth nalgene bottle has these brown dots in it that keep reoccuring even after i wash it using lemon and a chopstick to take the brown stuff off. it's hard to remove all of the weird brown growth though, because it is a nalgene.
this stuff isn't mold, is it?
I would bleach it. What is a lemon going to do, really? That's just silly. Put a very little bit of bleach in the bottom, then some water and let it soak in there for a short while. Then rinse in really, really, really well and wash with regular soap and water and let it sit to see if it grows back. If it does, throw it away! Seriously do not drink out of containers with strange "growths." That's pretty sick....there isn't another glass available or what? I hope it's not mold but it probably is something of that sort.
