how do I raise my handlebars up on my 2006 Specialized Hardrock Sport.?
how do I raise my handlebars up on my 2006 Specialized Hardrock Sport. there is a bolt on the top of the stem, but that doesn't do anything. Are they adjustable or do I need a different stem?
I don't have the disc break model, but I now wondering if I angle the seat down will that help me as well. I only need about half an inch.
Ultimately, you need a different stem. They are generally available with different angles and also in adjustable models... the adjustable ones really aren't reliable enough for offroad riding.
What you have is a threadless steerer where the stem is clamped directly to the fork. The top cap is to preload the headset bearings and should NOT be touched... it won't do a thing unless the stem is loosened first.
