Will my company allow me to have a mobile auto service technician work on my car in the company parking lot?
I need some work done on my car, and there is a mobile auto repair service in my area. I would think there would be issues with insurance or something if the technician were to be hurt on company property. Would most companies allow such a thing?
Sometimes it is better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission. If the tech is injured, then it is a workman's compensation issue for him. If he or she is hurt because someone backed into him or her, then the workman's comp people sue the person who backed into him. And if the person backed into the tech because the parking area was too crowded, then maybe everyone sues your company. But let's be reasonable here: on the spot repairs have been going on for years in all kinds of places. Why worry now?
